Coronavirus: Adebayor Bids Olimpia Farewell

After just four months at Paraguayan first side Olimpia, Former Arsenal striker, Emmanuel Adebayor has called it quits  due to complications thrown up by the new coronavirus.

 

 

 

The 36 year old has been in Lome for the better part of the lockdown period and the club have  said his return to Paraguay posed significant health and safety problems and the split was by mutual agreement.

 

“The high logistical cost and the economic situation the country is going through has not escaped Olimpia either,” a part of the statement reads.

 

 

The Ex Manchester City forward was a surprise signing for Olimpia in February but has had little chance to perform before the league was suspended due to the global pandemic.
