Nigeria’s Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare, says a strict sports code will be released soon, as all seems set for the return of sporting activities in the country.
Sports activities were suspended in the country in March following the coronavirus outbreak, with the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, recently ruling out any possible return of sporting activities however the Veteran sports journalist said the sports ministry was currently reviewing its plans in resuming sporting activities.
Writing on his official twitter handle, the 54 year old said “Global sports is reviewing its plans, calendar and related activities in view of the pandemic.
“Here in Nigeria, we are doing the same thing and working closely with the COVID-19 PTF, health ministry and NCDC. The MYSD has developed a COVID-19 Sports Code to be released soon. The health of our athletes will always come first.”
