Ziyech was reduced to tears by an emotional message from his mother and Ajax team-mates after he watched highlights from his four years at the Eredivisie giants in an Amsterdam movie theatre.
Soon-to-be Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech broke down in tears during an emotional celebration of his Ajax career, ahead of his summer move to the Premier League.
Ziyech, who contributed to 130 goals in 165 games during four years with Ajax, will join the Blues this in July after agreeing a £37.4m move in February.
Despite the Eredivisie season being written off due to coronavirus, Ziyech will not depart Amsterdam empty-handed because the 26-year-old has been awarded a third ‘Rinus Michels trophy’ in as many seasons.
“It’s a bit strange,” he said. “You know that everything comes to an end. But it’s, you know…. It’s a strange way of closing this chapter.”
