Manchester United great Paul Scholes has stated that he had his reservations about the Old trafford outfit snapping up Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo on transfer deadline day last January.
Scholes, a key member of United’s treble winning side of 1999 has however heaped praises on the eagles star for settling in perfectly into life at the ‘theatre of dreams’.
In an interview with MANU TV, Scholes said “I have to say his (manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer) three or four signings have been excellent.
“I was a little bit dubious about the Ighalo one, I wasn’t quite sure how that would work, but you have to say that’s worked as well.
“He’s a different kind of player from the players we had, a bit more of a target man, which we miss, and he seems to have settled in really well, scoring goals.” he submitted.
United will continue their Premier League fixtures with a trip to London to face Tottenham Hotspurs on June 19.
