Super Eagles hitman Victor Osimhen has been voted as the the best African Player for the just concluded 2019/2020 ligue one season.
Osimen beat compatriot Moses Simon, and eight other players of African origin to the prestigous award is named after late Cameroonian midfielder Marc-Vivien-Foe and organised by Radio France International as well as France 24.
Monaco’ s Algerian forward Islam Slimani and Morrocan Yunis Abdelhamid of Stade de Reims came second and third in the poll respectively.
The former Charleroi star who was also recently voted Lille player of the season found the net 18 times and contributed six assists in all 38 appearances for ‘Les dogues’ this season.
Osimen is the seventh Lille player to win the award following in the footsteps of Ivory Coast forward Gervinho who picked it up in 2010 and 2011, Vincent Enyeama in 2014, Sofiane Boufal in 2016 and most recently Nicolas Pepe who won the 2019 edition before his transfer to Arsenal last season.
