Pienarr Retires

Former bafana bafana and everton midifielder Steven Pienarr  has called it quits with the round leather game.

The diminutive  player starred alongside  Nigeria’s Joseph Yobo, Yakubu Aiyegbeni and with Victor Anichebe at both the Goodison park and the stadium of light.

Pienaar retired from international football in 2012 but continued at club level for another six seasons.

He called time on his playing career back in his native South Africa after a stint with PSL club, Bidvest Wits.

In a video posted on his verified twitter handle, @realstevenpi, the star showered encomium on his family and “all the clubs that I have played for, and the supporters of course; how can I forget you guys, thanks for the love throughout my career…”he said .

The 38 year old recently earned his coaching badges and a managerial career might just be on the cards for the ex Spurs attacker.
